Program Description:
Chengdu CampusFDU's Chengdu American Center provides students with all the essentials in one integrated package. Students are encouraged to explore Chengdu and the surrounding area in full by blending course work and excursions including visits to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Jinli Ancient Street and Wuhou Temple. There will also be an extended mid-semester excursion outside of Chengdu each semester.

A semester at FDU's Chengdu American Center also offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in one of China's fastest growing cities in the region. As a hub for financial growth, technological advancement and cultural activities, Chengdu is known as the gateway to the "real China." A subtropical climate lends itself to a slower pace of life, even as the city continues to develop. Famous for its world-class cuisine, leisurely teahouses and historic temples, the quality of life in Chengdu rivals the day-to-day living in cities as large as Beijing and Shanghai. Housed in the prestigious Sichuan University, the center is located on the university's beautiful downtown Huaxi campus. Living among buildings from the Qing Dynasty, you will study with students from Sichuan University and around the United States.

Choose from a wide variety of courses including your Core FDU requirements! Take special sections of UNIV 2001, UNIV 2002 or BOTH while studying at the Chengdu American Center.

In addition to U.S. style courses in business, communications, humanities, social science, criminal justice, Chinese language and culture, students may apply for an internship in their field of study.
